Stroll the Streets of Paris

While we take our walk, I have some items for you to search and find...

See if you can spot a map
and a tower
or maybe even two...

How about a candy shop
and a painter
and a picture with a view...

Then there is the castle
and our street sign
which began with Rue...

They are all in the slideshow,
take a peek,
you may see something new!

Make your own slideshow at Animoto.

World Book Night - Got my 1st Choice!

I just received the big email that I got my first choice.
Drum Roll.......

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak

I read this book early last year. It made my Top Ten list from last year. It is a book about the Holocaust, but done is such a unique light.  I definitely will be reading it again so that it is fresh in my mind.  All I will say right now is that the main character, Liesel Meminger, finding a book is central to the story.  You can already tell that this is my kind of book!  More later...

The Penderwicks

A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy

The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy
This is such a wonderful story of summer fun and innocent mischief reminiscent of my young reading years.  Four sisters go on a magical summer vacation to an estate called Arundel.  They romp in the vast gardens, find a treasure trove of fun in the huge attic, and even meet face to face with a viscous bull.  But, the most fun is sharing the magic with the discovery of a new friend, Jeffrey.  Then cold hearted Mrs. Tifton enters the picture.  Will she ruin everything?

I bought this book at a book festival that I was fortunate to be able to attend in San Antonio.  I met the author, Jeanne Birdsall, and got to hear how she came to be an author.  Here is a picture of Jeanne signing my book!
